Mission Hills Heritage

2015 Annual Historic Home Tour

Tourgoers viewed interiors of six private Mission Hills homes as examples of the uniquely American architectural style pioneered by Frank Lloyd Wright in Chicago, which it made its way across the country to San Diego during the 1910s and 1920s. Master builders including Nathan Rigdon, Martin Melhorn, Alexander Schreiber, and Morris B. Irvin were major contributors to the Prairie Style homes in Mission Hills. An additional feature was a special viewing of the 1921 United Church of Christ at 4070 Jackdaw Street.
