The Mission Hills Garden Club was established in the early 1990's to bring together those neighbors and friends who had an interest in gardening and community beautification. They hold monthly meetings in the evenings with speakers, allowing an eclectic group to attend and enjoy sharing their knowledge and interests.

Uptown Planners is the city-recognized community-planning advisory board for the neighborhoods of Bankers Hill/Park West, Middletown, Mission Hills, Hillcrest, and University Heights (west of Park Boulevard). Monthly meetings provide information about upcoming land use issues and a forum for dialogue related to various land use and development issues. Discussion topics may originate from the City, from residents and business owners or from applicants with projects who are seeking input as part of the permit process.
